"How the World of Work is Changing Through the Lens of Five Generations"
Fall 2019

Generational theory explains the era in which a person was born affects the development of their view of the world. Our values, attitudes, and beliefs are shaped in the first decade or so of our lives, by our families, our friends, our communities, significant events and the general era in which we are born. Deepening our understanding of what shapes the values, attitudes and behaviors of each generation promotes greater appreciation of the differences and similarities between the generations. With a multigenerational workforce, it is necessary to understand the career development needs of each generation.

In this issue of Career Developments magazine you will increase knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to work within a diverse population. Clients and students from different generations exhibit unique worldviews that must be considered in order to achieve optimal career development outcomes.
